Jay S. Shelton

Mr. Shelton  has extensive experience at various levels of Human Resources, Consulting and Analyst positions and is currently a Foster Care Case Manager with Free Will Family Ministries working within Young Homes.  In this role, he works directly with foster families and children throughout the State of Arkansas.  Prior to his current position, he was a Court Liaison (Administrative Analyst) with the Arkansas Department of Human Services working within the Division of Children and Family Services.  Prior to that position, he was a Contract Compensation Consultant primarily dealing with the Golden Living Family of Businesses and prior to that he was a Compensation Consultant with the same.  He has been certified as both a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Jay honorably served in the United States Air Force for 26 years and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant (E8).  For the last 6 years of his active-duty career, he was in the position of the Superintendent of the Military Personnel Flight.  As such, he oversaw the daily actions of personnel to include staffing, relocations, training, records management, promotions, performance reporting, systems management, and customer service actions.  He also oversaw and promoted our Retiree Affairs branch that supported an area that had 4 major military installations.  

Since his retirement from the military, he has remained active in organizations that directly support the retired forces such as the Air Force Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, the Enlisted Heritage Association and the American Legion.  He has been an active member of the American Legion for over 30 years.   Most recently, as a member of the Ellig-Stoufer American Legion Post 31, he has served in the position of Finance Officer and then the Veterans Service Officer for the last 5 years.
